Inventory Of Craft Supplies

As previously mentioned, I am de-cluttering my life. I have a huge urge to use up all my craft supplies and either start over or never start again. But I love creating, that’s my thing, so I doubt I will never own any supplies – how would I live?! But I have plans, that isn’t worth sharing now but I will in the future.

As soon as I subconsciously decided to use up everything it occurred to me that I don’t really know what I have. I am one of those that looks through stuff every once in a while and says ‘oh yeah! I own this, isn’t that great?’ That’s just dumb, Emily, stop that.

I have started my own unprofessional and scrappy inventory. You may question why things aren’t in the right category, but I put all items into the places my brain would associate with them. Like wool is a fabric, could also be a tool I suppose, but I see it as an item to knit with. I also don’t want to own a notebook with it completely perfectly organised, I want everything on one piece of paper that I can glance at when I have an idea, then execute it or scrap it.

Anyway, it’s not finished, I have lots of drawers and shelves to go through. It’s all cool.

Updating Goals

IMG_6211.jpg 1Surprise! I’ve changed again. To the outside world that is – to me, I am growing. I am talking about myself before you think I’m talking about my clothes or my blog layout. Any point in making goals if four months down the line you change your mind? Sure, there are no rules. We are all winging it, right? Or just me?

I embrace change in myself, but I don’t actually change. I am one of those weirdos who has always looked the same (seriously) and still pulls the same face in photos, and is literally the same in every single way. I suppose my ideas change, and the way I want to live.

On the 4th of January I wrote a post about goals for this year, as you do, and here is a break down of what I said;

  • organise my work station
  • organise my hobbies
  • permanently de-clutter
  • make a time table to do the next draft of my book
  • organise all other stories I’ve written
  • collect all my recipes together
  • take more care of myself
  • live more healthily

So, I kinda went to town on this list. Resolutions are fun? … Did I complete any? Yes, actually, two – take care of myself and live more healthy. And what makes it better is that those two were natural by-products of how good I’ve been feeling lately.

Other things that have changed from feeling great;

  • I still want to make stuff but I no longer want to keep it
  • I actually don’t have much interest in keeping many possessions (this is completely alien to me!)
  • I don’t want to ‘nest’. I love decorating a space, but I no longer want my own space – I’m only 23
  • I want to keep moving
  • this is the closest I’ve been to peace. It feels amazing.

I feel so free. It’s cool, you’re cool. I may change again in the future, but still be the same, I don’t mind. If it feels right, it feels right, you know? You got to stay true to yourself. See you tomorrow!

Five Controversial Things About Me

So let’s imagine I’m at a party with all my friends and family: here are five things that would (and have before) cause controversy when brought up in conversation.

1. My favourite Queen song is Somebody To Love.

Wait what? But Bohemian Rhapsody! Don’t Stop Me Now?! Is this a joke? What about Under Pressure? I Want To Break Free?? Radio Ga Ga?! Come on!

I have great memories of singing Bohemian Rhapsody in the dark room at college, like don’t get me wrong I love it, I love Queen, but somebody find me somebody to love! Always a debate with people.

2. I’m not into social media. Maybe I just don’t get it.

But, but, but how do you live then?

3. I’m a vegetarian.

WHY?!

4. I’m an atheist.

Any belief is controversial nowadays. Why can’t we all just get along?! I said that really dramatic, just so you know. But we just need to accept that everyone is different, and it’s actually cool and interesting. I want to know what you believe in, and it’ll be nice for me to share mine, and we can all nod our heads and say ‘oh wow, really? That’s cool,’ and high five. Yup.

5. I suffer with anxiety and depression.

I’m really good at the moment (just thought I’d throw that out there), but why is mental health still a taboo subject? I’m so open, don’t just ask me ‘how are you?’ in a hushed voice, ask me questions if you are really interested. It’s okay. I’m okay. It’s just like having a broken leg..

And one cheeky extra one: my boyfriend is from the north, where as I’m from the south. Ohh, mental!
